Stained glass ice puzzle
This is ice floating on a backwater of the Potomac below Great Falls. The colors arise due to birefringence in the ice and are seen using a polarizer (or polarized sunglasses). I could see this as a puzzle, but am not sure I'd want to be trying to put it together.
